In 1995, the "Dream Home for Healthcare Lottery" was launched.  It was one of the first dream home lotteries in Ontario and is one of the most successful.  The Dream Home Lottery is a project of the Lambton Hospitals Foundation.

To date, more than $2.1 million profit has been raised!  The following urgently required medical equipment has been purchased for the hospitals as a result of the Dream Home Lottery:

Hand-held computers for our nurses to use at the patients' bedsides

A specially equipped van to allow patients with Broda wheelchairs to venture outside of the Continuing Care Centre for the first time in years

A laser for the operating room

Nursery equipment for our new babies

Funds have also been used towards the purchase of the MRI and Cat Scan machines, as well as a variety of other medical equipment.

The funds raised from the 2004 Dream Home Lottery will be used towards purchasing operating room equipment for our new community hospital. (Click for details)

Our success is due to our tremendous volunteers.  This year we are partnered with the Mitton Village and Bright's Grove District merchants and businesses who provided home furnishings and marketing expertise.  We have established committees who work closely with the builder  and interior decorator.  Some of the members of our Dream Home Lottery committee have been with us since the beginning.  We are extremely fortunate for and grateful to each and every one of our dedicated volunteers!

A word from the builder…Maher Homes Limited

We were pleased once again to be chosen as the builder of this year’s dream home and again to be a part of such an important community project.
This year’s dream home promises not to disappoint.  We chose an exciting Cape Cod style home with stone, brick and siding exterior.  The main floor master bedroom features double walk-in closets and a luxury ensuite with soaker tub and a shower unit complete with its own jets.  Two large bedrooms upstairs each have walk-in closets.  The entry foyer leads to a formal dining room with hardwood floors.  The two story great room features a stone fireplace and plenty of windows.  A true “dream kitchen” features an island with granite top.  The adjoining dinette leads out to the covered, vinyl rear porch.  No dream home would be complete without the usual luxuries such as central air conditioning, central vacuum, security system, dishwasher and landscape package.

We extend our sincere thanks to the manufacturers, suppliers and trades for their continued support each year, combined with the efforts of the decorators in making this 2004 Dream Home an overwhelming success!

Sincerely, Chris and Steve Maher

A Stone's Throw from the Lake

This year's Dream Home is a charming Cape Cod Home.  Its curb appeal includes a stone front, which highlights the large pillars on the front porch.
The inside has captured a contemporary flair, striking a balance with an old beach cottage spirit.  We've kept things simple and neutral, but ad
ded sunbursts of yellow and some black for a dramatic accent.  It is cozy and quaint with many natural materials and textures. The grass woven wood blinds, stone fireplace, rattan chairs and rustic woods will comfort you immediately. It's a whole new fresh look.
Come see the home, get some ideas and of course GET YOUR TICKETS. We support our community hospital and hope you will too.

Elizabeth Harmer Interiors  ~ Debra Eady

Once again Debra Eady of Elizabeth Harmer Interiors has designed and decorated all 3 bedrooms and the master bath in this year’s Dream Home.  Debbie has elegantly transformed these rooms into restful, luxurious retreats.  Each room resonates with its own style, showcasing her creative approach to interior decorating.  Attention to detail is the trademark of Elizabeth Harmers and is evident throughout Debbie’s rooms.

Debbie spends a tremendous amount of time designing her rooms before any of the actual work or sewing begins. She starts her rooms with the selection of fabrics.  For each room she tries to pull together 5 or 6 patterns, paying attention to texture, scale of pattern and colour.  Once the fabrics are chosen the fun begins, the designing of a room.

Debbie chose the furniture for the master suite from Brushstrokes and all of the second floor antiques from Grace Bros. Furniture is set up, beds are dressed, window treatments are hung, accessories are added and Elizabeth Harmers rooms are ready.  Elizabeth Harmer Interiors is located at Oak Acres Plaza on Cathcart & Colborne  (519) 336-5466.
