Over the past few years, there has been tremendous change in the way health care is delivered to the people of Lambton County.  The amalgamation of hospital management, staff and programs combined with the first steps in building our new hospital, signify the beginning of a new era in health care.  The State of the Heart Campaign was necessary to provide the community's share of the project costs.

There is no doubt to anyone living in Lambton County, that we have some of the finest health care professionals in Ontario.  They are dedicated and committed to keeping us healthy and well.

However, current design and placement of buildings is inefficient and some of our buildings are well past their useful life.  After intensive community consultation, it was decided to start planning the construction of a new hospital to meet the needs of Lambton residents well into the 21st century.

In 2003, the Bluewater Health Foundation launched the State of the Heart Campaign as part of its long-term fundraising to raise the community's commitment for both the construction and equipping of our new hospital. With the help of many dedicated volunteers, we have raised $40 million towards the construction of our new facility!

Our new hospital will offer tremendous advantages over the current configuration.  Bluewater Health's team of design professionals have been working with our partners in the Provincial Government to design a new health care facility that incorporates the latest in health care design and technology.
